Losing Weight The Healthy Way

It happens to the best of us. A few too many mince pies at Christmas, ice cream on holiday, nibbling through the day. It sneaks up on us, and suddenly catches us unawares. Before we know it, there’s that special occasion coming up and we’re filled with dread. How are we going to squeeze into the bikini/dress/dinner/suit? Is it the grapefruit diet for us? Even worse. Cabbage soup?

Laying the Foundation to Becoming GLOBALLY Competitive

Laying the Foundation to becoming GLOBALLY Competitive

Laying the Foundation to Becoming GLOBALLY Competitive

Recently I was invited to do a Keynote speech at the Pan Arab Organizations Global Competitiveness Strategy Conference which was held in the Burj Al Arab in Dubai. The topic was about leadership and what was required of organizations in order to become globally competitive. To be in business in the 21st century, you need to be playing the game as a globally competitive player. Whether you have it in your mind to compete on a local or a global level, your thoughts, strategy and leadership must be reflective of you being competitive on a global scale. No longer is it an option for you to consider, rather it has become a must to operate with this framework in mind if you wish to thrive today when the majority struggle to survive. This framework applies whether you are an employee, a self employed person, a manager of a department or a CEO of an organisation.

Holistic Natural Remedies and Tips For Grief and Stress

I’m a sensitive disabled husband caregiver for my special needs wife and I can tell you that I suffer from daily stress and emotional difficulties.  I’m human and I have a lot on my plate.  I have good days and bad days.  I’m painfully grieving for the sad loss of my beloved brother-in-law who died  last year because he couldn’t process the grief for his beloved mother-in-law and brother and as a result, he overdosed on pain medication and  antidepressants, the day after he got out of drug rehab.  I tried desperately to get him to listen to my healthy ideas to feel better, using natural holistic approaches, but to no avail.  I am very thankful that I have not succumbed to any dependence on p for anything that ails me and I never will and the reason is very simple.  I have full trust and faith in natural remedies, in which my doctors also agree.  I take natural supplements, like B12, and homeopathic remedies, including St. John’s Wort, to help me feel better.  I meditate daily and do gentle yoga stretching and Tai Chi. We have also slowly weened my wife of of 6 deadly P T S D medications, with severe side affects.

When Your Children Start the Independent Life at Colleges

Being Away From Home for College is Scary Enough

When college students start the independent life, they must go by himself but still feel at least a little bit out of sorts. Even if they are not afraid of anything or not worried, they still miss Mom’s meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy Grandma’s apple pies next door and the local town hangout, be it an ice cream store, diner, or bowling alley. They will feel shocked when they will have to do their own laundry, wash their own car, a chore for gals (thank goodness for the drive through car cleaning!)

The other thing is, sometimes they are feeling a bit uncomfortable getting used to sleeping on a different bed, in a strange room, in an unfamiliar town. So, thank the stars that there are some great personal protection items which are perfect for college students, whether male or female. There is the door brace, which is a tubular, metal contraption that extends in a telescopic sort of way, and it wedges between the floor and just under the door knob. It would prevent the door from being pushed open, even IF it was somehow unlocked from the outside. The door brace would make an attempt at breaking in very difficult, if not impossible.
